Page 5.Alvis Three Litre Shop Manual - T.A. 21 and T.C. 21FOREWORDIn compiling this manual it has been endeavoured to provide not only a concise guide to the correct maintenance and successful running of the ALVIS THREE LITRE car, but also to acquaint the owner with the functions of the various components of the car in order that he may acquire a better understanding of his car, and so obtain from it the best possible performance and maximum enjoyment. Each ALVIS car passes a rigorous road test and is carefully adjusted before leaving the Works. In the owner%u2019s hands it will continue to give efficient and reliable service with the minimum of attention if the instructions contained in this manual are carefully followed.Only those operations considered to be practicable for the owner have been included in the summarised maintenance instructions; other service work of a more extensive nature should be entrusted to the ALVIS Service Departments or an ALVIS Distributor. It is of the greatest importance to the ALVIS Company that every ALVIS car shall be operated under the most efficient conditions, and an owner encountering any aspect of service not covered by this manual is requested to communicate immediately with the ALVIS Service Department or an ALVIS Distributor. All communications concerning ALVIS cars should be addressed to the Service Department, Alvis Limited, Coventry, or the London Service Station, 832 Finchley Road, N.W.ll. It is most important that at all times the communications should bear the car number, which is stamped on both engine and frame adjacent to the right-hand engine mounting. Prompt and efficient service can always be obtained when this information is provided.
