In each case the control unit is mounted in the space on the fascia board normally occupied by the glove box in front of the driver. Two speakers are provided in the car roof, one above each door pillar and concealed by the roof lining. The swept-back telescopic aerial, which is mounted externally on the peak of the roof enhances rather than detracts from the appearance of the car.Wiindsccreen WaashersTrico windscreen washer equipment may be installed in the ALVIS THREE LITRE car as a standard optional extra. Depressing the button on the fascia board for a second or two releases two fine jets of water which play on the arcs of the windscreen wiper arms, and in conjunction with the wipers wash away insects, mud, and other foreign matter from the windscreen. The induction manifold vacuum supplies the necessary force to spray the water through the jets.The water supply is contained in a glass reservoir of approximately 21/2 pints capacity, housed beneath the bonnet, and can easily be replenished through the top cover. A gauze filter is fitted in the tube through which the water is pumped to the jets, but should a jet become blocked the knurled screw in the end of the jet head should be unscrewed one turn and the washer operated. Any foreign particles will then be washed away and the knurled screw may be retightened finger tight.A Trico solvent may be obtained for adding to the water supply. This solvent assists in removing insects from the screen in summer, and in winter prevents the water freezing in the reservoir; full instructions are given on each bottle. This solvent will not prevent water freezing on the screen in the sub-zero conditions; radiator anti-freeze solution must not be used in the washer.
