Do not overdo this as grease may exude into the brake drum and reach the brake linings, thereby considerably impairing the braking efficiency.In order to apply grease to the front hub bearings it is necessary to remove the wheel disc and hexagon hub cap.A grease nipple is provided at each end of the axle tube behind the brake back plates for the lubrication of the rear hubs.JJacki ackingg aand Wheel Chaangi ginggThe car has a four-point jacking system, enabling each wheel to be raised independently.Square section tube extensions on the chassis frame, to receive the lug of the wheel brace operated jack, are revealed when the rubber plugs are removed from the bumper over-riders.The rear wings have detachable wheel spats which must be taken off before the wheels can be removed. Each spat is locked at its top edge and is located in rubber bushes at the bottom.The wheels are fitted with spring on type discs which have to be removed to reveal the wheel nuts. These wheel discs must be prised off by inserting the point of the special hook shaped tool between the disc and wheel at a point adjacent to one of the disc retaining pegs.When refitting, the wheel disc should be placed in position on two of the three pegs and given a sharp blow with the ball of the hand to spring the disc over the third peg with a ringing snap. Unless the wheel disc is firmly in position it may spring OFF at the first road shock.To remove a wheel, apply the hand brake, remove the wheel disc, and slacken the wheel nuts. Place chocks in front and behind the diagonally opposite wheel, insert the jack in the appropriate socket, and raise the wheel from the ground. Remove the wheel nuts and pull off the wheel. Never jack up the car on sloping ground.When replacing the wheel, finally tighten the nuts after the jack has been removed and the wheel is on the ground.Spare WheelThe spare wheel is housed in a tray beneath the boot. This tray drops down, allowing the wheel to be withdrawn from the rear when the two release levers are pulled in an upward direction.
